My fix has been to use Discord with my friends. Of course it doesn't help when your playing alone.
As much as I like Battlefield, Neebs Gaming Battlefield Friends nailed all the problems of 2042.

if ya disable other sound devices in DEVICE MANAGER ?
Only your headset shoudl be enabled, and then try again !!!!
Reboot first if ya disabled all other sound devices in device manager !
You shouldn't have to do that to get the mic to work when it works in windows just fine...
