Hey, @ProfessorBoreas can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield 2042 and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.
Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?
Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

Thanks @EA_Atic.
I did a clean boot and it still happens, overlays off.
DxDiag attached.
meanwhile before I 1st posted I ran sfc/ scannow, also I checked both drives for errors

Well, the listed monitor supports Freesync. Did you turn Vsync off in game, as I suggested?
BTW - If you look at the bottom of that DXDIAG report you will see that nahimicsvc32 keeps crashing. This article suggests there could even be some malware involved. I would get that rectified, even if it is not directly causing your VSync issue.

Thanks, no because I am not using FreeSync, I am running stable settings for 75FPS. But I have turned it off now as it doesn't work so I am using the NVCP VSync setting as mentioned.
Okay I'll look at trying to fix the nahimicsvc32 service. Note I disabled it when doing the clean boot
