Xbox Controller mapping on PC

Summarize your bug Button mapping for Xbox Controller isnt working on PC, all buttons are mapped to different functions
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Connect Xbox Wireless Controller via Bluetooth. Open the game and try using controller. Only the left joystick is mapped correctly, all other buttons and joystick are wrong. eg. trying to get to Options should be the menu button twice, but this acts as the "A" button on the controller.
What happens when the bug occurs? Unable to play because some functions arent available and the mapping is terrible
What should be happening instead? Buttons should be mapped correctly.

Today I tried connecting my Xbox Wireless Controller for use when flying or using vehicles and discovered its not working properly. 

I've updated the controller via Xbox Accessories to the latest firmware available.

I've also tested the controller in "Game Controller Tester" (available in the Microsoft Store) and confirmed that the mapping and buttons are correct. 

I've tested the controller in my other games including Battlefield V and confirmed its working as expected in other games as well.

Its only bugging in 2042.

    wow thank you so much @AlphaHeir !

    Thats a weird issue, but that fixed the mapping problem. 

    I didnt have Origin Overlay on, but I changed the Controller config in Steam Big Picture, and closed Origin Client and relaunched. Now its working properly.

    TY for this, i forgot about the big pic settings in steam! I managed to fix my DS4 with some minor tinkering...

    @JarskyPlaysThis was somehow the fix!

    I run origin through steam with both overlays and it works with my DS4 controller

    Man, I just downloaded the latest season 1 update and I was hoping they would have had a fix for this issues as I cannot use my xbox series x or MS Elite Series 2 controller neither with Origin nor EA beta app and trying to run everything from steam isn't working properly as my view resets constantly and I lose my focus on the screen then I die. It renders the game useless to me as I am so used to playing with a controller and not with a keyboard and mouse at this point. How is this issue not even on the known bugfix list??? I have reached out to their support and they were going to forward it to their developer team.
