Xbox Series S and Xbox PC App (EA App) Crossplay

We are trying to play Battlefield 2042 crossplay with one person playing on an Xbox Series S and another playing on a Personal PC through the Xbox App (which directs me to the EA App).  The Player on the Xbox Series S can see and send an invite to the player on the PC via the in-game social screen. However, the player on the PC cannot see the player on the Xbox on their friends list.

  1. We have confirmed that players' Xbox and EA accounts are linked.
  2. Both players can play independent online games without issue
  3. We have confirmed cross-play is on for both systems inside the Battlefield 2042 Menu Screen.

How are we able to find and play together?

  • Hi DeFrance450,

Do you know which version of the game is being used on the Xbox (I'm not sure if you're the PC or console player in this post)?

I tried one thing and have a little more info on the problem, when the player from the box sends the PC player a invitation to the game, The PC player can press "Join game" from the Xbox App on the PC, it gives the two options of "stream" or "play here" When selecting "Play here" it does not work. However, pressing "stream" does seem to work. We have confirmed that the install files are intact and up to date, and we can play Battlefield 2042 on the PC without issue independently using the locally downloaded version.
