Xbox Series X game won’t load past title screen

Battlefield 2042 won’t load anything past the title screen. I try to start the game and it shows me the initial cover art then it changes to the title screen and that’s it. After a little while it makes my monitor go pink and takes me back to the main Xbox menu. If I tried to start it again after it takes me back to Xbox menu, sometimes it just shuts down my Xbox entirely. I’ve uninstalled it three times so far, waited for updates, I’m installing it on my internal storage since it was on the Seagate special expansion card so I’ll update this post once it’s done. I’m at my wits end and I’m ready to get my money back. I spent $80 for a pink screen. I was ready for a modern setting Battlefield and this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had in gaming in general.

  • I decided I wasn’t gonna wait for it to be done downloading. I’m done trying to make a game work so I can just get to the main menu of the game. I got my refund approved thankfully. I would rather play Battlefield 4 than this game. -100/10 rating.

Sorry to hear about the launch experience you had. If you decide to come back please let us know if you run into any further issues. There was an update that went out for Series X which has to be manually installed from your Xbox Settings. I am not sure if you had that installed already. Hope to see you join us on the battlefield soon.

    This update is now live.

November Xbox Update (November 17th, 2021)
Today’s Xbox console OS update (build 2111) has fixes reducing console shutdowns and improving stability of Xbox Series X consoles when playing titles such as NBA 2K22FIFA 22, and Battlefield 2042.   For more details on the complete set of features available this month, please see November Xbox Update post on Xbox Wire.
If you want to update your console to the latest OS build, you can manually accomplish this by following these steps on your Xbox console:
    1. Make sure that your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & systemSettings > System > Updates.
    3. Under Updates, you’ll see:
    • Console update available. Select this to begin your update, or
    • No console update available. This means your console is up to date
