BF2042 was working fine on EA for a while, then it stopped working and I realized that EA was not forcing an update on the game which was the issue since when I went into Origin it prompted an update...

Community ManagerTry the following steps, thanks.
- Perform a clean boot before starting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
- Clear the EA app cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
- Turn off the EA app overlay via the three bar menu at top left, Settings, Application, In-game overlay
- In the EA app, click on the game and then Manage, Repair
So I did the rest of the solutions and kept the clean boot for the last part. After doing the clean boot, it somehow locked me out of my windows. It said my pin no longer existed and when I tried to set a new pin it wouldn't even go to the next page, so I had to reformat my computer. Not a great experience so far. I'll redownload EA and BF2042 and see if it gets better.
