Breakthrough: Liberation Peak map

Every game I played in this map never got past the first point.  Taking A is really difficult due to lack of routes, cover, trenches and strategic points, you can't flank and can't push directly neither. I'm thinking about BF1 map design on Operations, that was really a thing because you can set up a proper assault with plenty of possibilities and a wide space where to move.
In Liberation Peak the space is too narrow for any alternatives in pushing the point and there is only one tank to rely on: it's basically a one way massacre (spawnkill in some cases) that kills the fun for both squads because the attackers always try to force the point directly. This seems a desperate rush, hoping not to die and that's not what Battlefield should be as a warfare game.
BF6 is fun with a lot of potential but I hope the maps will be structured like OG battlefields, where there is a wide map with lots of approach to conquer or defend the points.

I agree, I haven't played this map on Conquest but in Breakthrough it practically makes me want to leave and requeue; it's just a meatgrinder.

  • agree, playing this map on breakthrough feels like banging my head against a brick wall.
even on other games modes, the team that starts with the most aggression and speed tends to lock down half the map and spawn camps

  • playing this map on breakthrough is awful conquest not so much , snipers everywhere.

too much vision overlooking the map can barely move, going from one bunch of snipers to another bunch.

needs additional design to implement some areas snipers can't see. buildings or a smoking wreck or something

This map is horribly depends on attacker's team skill. While defenders can play dumb camper game, attackers must have a good tank, good engineers, and nice infantry to take first point. Final two points are the same. Every way for attackers is uncovered. And yeah, there is a problem with unlimited snipers on a open-wide map. And no, smoke doesn't fix the problem. Med's covers can be destroyed by single RPG shot. Smoke is countered by fire grenades and C4. Natural covers doesn't exist for attackers because their covers are opened on 2-3 sides.

I'm sure devs have their statistics. My statistics is 1 attackers victory against may be 20 loses. So, it's map.

I don't think it can be fixed by matchmaking. It never does in any game. So it's up to level design. Purely. Level design must smooth the skill difference between teams. Because BF is not ARMA or Valorant. Add break LoSes on flanks, force snipers to move forward and to risk, make points covered. Cairo is the great example: defenders and attackers both have good and various ways to attack and defend.

And yeah, if I wanted to be one-shoted in torso with a sniper rifle I'd go play CS. Not BF.

UPD: in fact, it's boring experience for both teams. Attackers can do nothing, defenders sit on same spots all the game and make frags.

I’ve almost never gotten stuck on the first point, I just flank around using the rocks as cover on the far right and picking out snipers with my friends, you can then shoot everyone trying to run into the meat grinder on the enemy team and give your guys enough time to get in, now the final hill’s a different story lol
