[Feedback] My impressions of the BF6 Open Beta (Bugs & Suggestions)
Hi guys,
after spending two full weekends with the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, I wanted to share a brief test report. My hope is that this feedback will help the developers fix bugs before release and fine-tune the gameplay where necessary.
General Gameplay
- Marking enemies or downed teammates doesn’t always work properly. Sometimes, objects like repair stations get marked through walls instead.
- Spotting enemies while “downed” is unreliable.
- Occasionally, players take random damage, especially right after spawning.
Visual Issues
- Helicopter rotor blades are often static rather than animated.
- Once, all weapons, gadgets, and even squadmate character models were invisible after spawning. The bug persisted after respawn.
- Some models show bright glowing white or colored dots. Some objects do also have random dark spots. I attached three screens of that issue.
Audio Issues
- Voice output in the “War Tapes” audio setting is slightly too quiet.
Netcode related Issues(?)
- TTK feels inconsistent: sometimes enemies die very slowly, sometimes almost instantly. Example: emptying an entire 21-round magazine into an opponent left them with 80 HP, while they killed me almost instantly, which happens quite often.
- Sometimes you still take damage from enemies even though you’re already behind cover (a well known Battlefield issue - but it wasn't as bad in older BFs).
Suggestions for Improvements
Gameplay Mechanics
- Shooting is disabled during (adrenaline) injections and shotgun reload animations. Consider allowing animation canceling or firing mid-animation to prevent deaths.
- After reviving, soldiers automatically switch to their primary weapon rather than the previously equipped one, which is a bit annoying.
- Defibrillator range feels too short and sometimes doesn’t register revives correctly.
- Revive cancellation should trigger when the revive key is released or when aiming/shooting, not only by pressing the key again. At the moment it can easily lead to deaths cause you are stuck in the animation.
- Communication wheel should be partly usable during revives (e.g., to thank your teammate immediately).
- Getting into crouch while sprinting allows sprinting while crouching - but restarting sprint while crouching brings the soldier back to standing, which is kinda frustrating.
- Grenade throw animation could be slightly slowed down.
- Shotgun currently feels overpowered, especially at longer ranges.
- M320 (explosive + thermite variants) is far too weak and needs a buff.
Immersion & Clarity
- Tanks don’t feel heavy or threatening; they feel and sound more like toys compared to Battlefield 1, where they were truly intimidating. Visual and audio effects should be improved.
- A stance indicator (crouched / prone) should be displayed, as introduced later in BFV.
- Please reintroduce classic social commands in the communication wheel (e.g., “Request order”, “Go, go, go!”, “Sorry”). These add to immersion and non-verbal communication.
- Communication messages from your teammates no longer appear in the chat, only as subtitles. Option to show them in chat again would be great.
- Chat readability is worse now: only a small symbol in the front of the name shows which channel is used (white, blue, green). Colored messages, like in previous titles, would make it clearer.
Visual & Map Design
- Destruction feels inconsistent: too aggressive in some cases (e.g., heavy objects instantly destroyed with a knife but tanks which are getting stopped by a small crate).
- Game visuals appear a bit too brownish/dark in my opinion. While the intention may be to create a BF3-like dark atmosphere, a slider which allows players to adjust this effect would be great.
- Current character models make it a bit hard to distinguish factions sometimes (brownish elements of “Pax Armarta” soldiers vs. NATO). Suggestion: darker tones for mercenaries, lighter tones only for NATO.
Map balancing issues:
- Liberation Peak: way too open, dominated by snipers on every ridge.
- Kairo: many buildings allow glitching into high spots for camping – should be changed / fixed.
Quality of Life
- Bringin back ping display (own + others). I think it was present in the first open beta.
- Please allow us to choose soldier voices alongside customizing uniforms.

Final Impression
Overall, my impression so far is very positive. While this isn’t quite the pure, old, “classic” Battlefield, it clearly takes inspiration from the beloved older titles. So far, there are no cringe characters, no over-the-top voice lines, no colorful weapons, and no immersion-breaking skins – and I SINCERELY hope it stays that way.
Please continue to listen closely to player feedback and integrate it into development. If Battlefield 6 can release in a polished, stable, and mostly bug-free state - and if you take active care of the problem with the cheaters - I’m confident it has the potential to be a truly great game.
