Not a regular gamer - My opinion

So I'm not an avid gamer, working full time with 2 children limits my playing time. I might game for a few hours here and there at the weekends, but not for hours on end every day.

I was a big fan of Battlefield 4 and was very excited by Battlefield 6.

So far I've mostly enjoyed the beta, but if I'm being honest, I can't justify spending £70 on a game that might cause me to smash my TV in frustration. A number of times already, I've come dangerously close to hurling my controller across the room.

The maps are pure artistry, everything looks amazing. The problem is that they seem to have perfected camouflage, because I can't see anyone until they're practically sat on me. I can perfectly see my own team mates, the handy big blue icon above their heads gives them away, but enemies... Not a chance. I will sprint across a map just to be killed with little effort by an enemy I couldn't see until after they killed me and were lit in red.

Spawn killing is an accepted part of gaming these days, used to be a big no no, but it's fine now. That doesn't stop it from being insanely frustrating to spawn and before you can move, be killed again.

Emptying an entire magazine at an enemy's torso and still being killed is pretty annoying, I've seen a few comments from other players saying similar things. By the time I've killed one enemy, I'm now also dead because their teammate has only had to put a couple of rounds in to me after my health has been depleted and I only have a round or two left in my current magazine to fight back with.

The power of some weapons compared to others doesn't make much sense at times. A thermobaric explosive being less effective than a couple of rounds from a pistol winds you up a treat.

Like I say, I'm not a regular gamer and some of my issues are related to my lack of experience against players who might spend 10hrs a day or more playing. I think that's kind of the issue for me, it's not a casual/new player friendly experience and I can't see why anybody like me would want to spend that kind of money just to end up spending most of their time looking at the map between respawns.
