Range Finder on Sniper rifle

So this is not working at all or it's working in a way that is not obvious.  I have no idea if this is working correctly or at all.   Has anyone figured this out yet ?

In BF4 the rage finder was part of the scope display that would show the distance at the object you were looking at.  I don't see anything anywhere on the screen that has a range distance meter.

Now I did notice that my pings or spot had a distance on it.   I hope that's not it. That is just lazy and lame if it is.

  • Did a little more testing the pings/spot have a distance on them for all classes.  So what do you need a range finder for ?

I believe this one is supposed to help zero in on your target by pushing down on the D pad or pressing B on KB.

I'm not too sure as I don't use Sniper much

  • Ok figured it out.  Not a fan but workable.   If you point on a target then hit zeroing, it auto distances the range for you.  So instead of 100,200,300,400,500 for standard zeroing - it get specific like 130,111 etc.

  • Let me add this as well,  if your range to target is under 100m it will not auto zero and cycle through the ranges 100,200... as usual.
