As a player with thousands of hours across all BFs alone (not to mention any other shooter with any sniper weapon equivalent) who played with Recon and snipers since forever - glint needs to stay. It's a tad too bright on the streamers gameplay, but it cannot be turned off. It's essential to the balance between classes and weapons.
We've been there without scope glint once upon a time. And it only led to hills, mountains and buildings being literally littered with hordes of sniper wannabes, camping one spot unpunished the entire match. Glint, while completely unrealistic, gives a critical indication when someone is occupying a shooting lane. Smoke trails would have to be very prominent to be a replacement in the usual BF chaos - and tbh would be far more distracting considering how many snipers there can be in any given match.
I dont want to be too brush, but the suggestion to remove quickscope - the most interesting and skillful way to play snipers since at least ET - gets a big "no" from me. The only thing this would achieve is to push all the snipers even further from the action. Again, we've been there and done that. It is frustrating for the playerbase as a whole. That's not healthy for the game, even if "that's how the real world snipers work" - it's a game first and foremost, real world be damned.
It's either glint or a hard limit on sniper rifles allowed to be taken in any given match. And the limit would have to be really low, a ~3 per 32 team low (or 10% of players).
