Scope Glint
As an avid long range shooter, I often play the recon class. The scope glint feels really overpowered to me, its like a flashlight at night. I understand its a balancing thing, but that glint is a pr...
Scope Glint/Glare isnt even a thing in real life so why add it? so that scrubs can know where you are hiding as a sniper? ISNT that a part of the gameplay that you are hiding in the shadows? JUST like in real life? imagine that glare in a real battlefield you see all those snipers pop up with a light as bright as the sun on the battlefield?
it should be removed, it wont add anything to the gameplay other than scrubs can find you easily. or tanks that are only targeting snipers because of the massive light rays.
There are historical accounts of seeing scope glint, but thats scopes from the 40s. in Iraq and Afghanistan they would use tape and Anti-Reflection devices/ killflashes, but its rare to see them nowadays with modern optics
Yes, there are scope ARDs and tape on scopes to reduce glint because it is a real thing in real life. That said, its not a 1million lumen flashlight on the end of your rifle that shows up regardless of the direction or even presence of sunlight. Have an ARD as an attachment that reduces the clarity of your scope if you really want to keep glint but make it directional/brightness based on direction and intensity of light source.
Glint should be removed, people have good enough monitors and tvs and are playing 1080p as a minimum, 1440p more likely and a lot of 4k. You can see the sniper if you look for them, unlike when the glint was added to the game in the past.
ARDs dont even affect the clarity to a noticeable amount, mainly just make the objective gather less light, its such a cheap way to find snipers without working for it
