Vehicles Repair Overhaul Needed
Battlefield has had this issue for decades at this point where a tank can sit back and lob shots on objectives from a tight angle and then when you start to get rockets on it, it will just back up repair go right back to being hell on earth for your team. I get it, you're supposed to coordinate and use strategy and teamwork to take out enemy vehicles but the odds of finding a squad that will actually do any of that friendly cooperation **bleep** is so low, its not realistic to balance a gameplay mechanic around that. I just had a game tonight where I hit a tank 4 times in one life with an RPG, respawned, hit it two more times all in the span of 2 minutes at most, and all while a friendly tank was trying to get shots on it too. I couldn't event get it to catch fire cause of the dudes repairing it on the other side, which is just not fun to deal with. The only people in this community that could ever find that back and forth fun is the dude in the tank on the 16 kill streak, and lets be real, that dude has also been hording the tank from the rest of the team since the start.
I would propose that vehicles simply have damage thresholds they cannot repair past. If you get hit below 50% HP, sorry but thats now the new max health that vehicle has going forward. This would make it so people can still play that cat and mouse tank/jet game or whatever, but its less likely to go on forever. I'd take it as far as to also say there should be a reset timer based on how long you were alive in vehicles in general so you can't hog a tank or chopper all day too. I think at the very least some kind of damage/health thresholds for vehicles would be a reasonable and fair improvement for the game. I said 50% health before, you could do other values too, 60%, 60% and then another at 30%, 40%, whatever. I am sure a reasonable drop off point could be found with some testing.
The beta has been fun, looking forward to seeing more.
