“Limited time” game modes that are popular. VL- 7 Contaminated

Well, because they want to check if people actually liked it. If people did - and I'm sure they did - DICE will get it back. Limited time winter mode, for example, was pretty stupid (the one with freezing mechanics), so it didn't return. But as for Contaminated, it will.

"Limited-time" game modes are a silly system designed to test the developers' new ideas for diversifying the original gameplay.

The problem is that in Battlefield 6 itself, there are very few basic game modes, even compared to the previous titles in the series - Battlefield 3 or 4, it is definitely not enough.

This, at least for me, irritates me to see anything time-limited in a game with such little core content.

F1sherOrigin​  yeah nah.  DICE did this same mind boggling BS in 2042 and then never brought back the game modes. Game modes that were insanely popular.

For example,  2042 Featured the Iwo Jima map redux w 64 player - Conquest 24/7 servers. It’s by far the MOST fun I ever had in 2042 and you could find a full servers of humans in this featured game mode 24/7. Then for absolutely no effing reason DICE yanked this extremely popular game mode and it never returned. After that it was back to mostly empty servers full of bots and 3 to 4 humans per team in 128 player Iwo Jima only. 

Completely agree with this. Came especially onto the forum to make this point. So I hope community managers are reading this along and bring this feedback with them back to the table. 

Why would you invest all of the time and make something and them decide to take it away?
I wasn't very impressed with the winter mode, but it did add something. 
Especially very much impressed with Contaminated and the gas. Really adds something to the gameplay. I mean play the map without and you will find it much less fun. 

So I would suggest to get rid of the time limited events when it comes to maps. Just leave an option in the map selection (for people using custom search) where you can choose to play the version with or without the gas/winter elements. 

EDIT: I really don't understand this, especially in a game with such a quick decrease in player count compared to the launch, you would expect developers to leave maximum content and variations (if already developed anyway) to attract the most amount of players. So developers please that this feedback seriously. 

Played today with the VL7 gas gone now. Really missing it to be honest. Hope the developers bring it back.

Nature of the beast with the Live Service in this game, unfortunately. It was the same for BF2042. 

There is, however, a decent chance that it'll come back at some point in the future. Dice do sometimes re-run popular events. 

I would love to have it back just as an option. Leave it in definitely and make a selectable thing. Or maybe a dynamic thing where shooting or destroying a certain part at an objective releases the gas. But honestly disappointed that it got removed. 

One of the reasons ppl drop from the game like crazy. Once the so-called playable Conquesty map is removed from the front page of the menus, some players lose the will to play. BF Studios created a problem that cannot be solved without rentable servers. I am not going to pay a premium for limited game modes... meanwhile, older BFs have been serving everything in PREMIUM service or permanently.

VL-7 is actually a decent map that I truly enjoy, and almost all players may find their playstyle on this particular map. You should keep VL-7 and the newly released Meat Grinder on the front page, so players have the best options.

To be honest this is fairly easy with custom search. I am not durend this is the main problem why people drop out of the game. I think the problem is mainly the quality long term which is the reason for loosing interest in the game. The new map is just a temporary influx because people want to give it a try.
