1st time BF player

I have to say first off the game looks and runs wonderful on my current Pc no issues there whatsoever. The campaign in fun so far - only 2 missions in but I like it.

Now lets talk about the Multiplayer game- HOW DO I see people in the maps ?? I can only see people on the mini map (red squares), before I even get close to anyone I'm shot dead and then i see their shadow outline. I've been going through video after video, setting after setting , and I cannot for the life of me seem to get combat down at all. I cannot even get close to even try to combat with someone. I am playing the Assault class if that matters.

I'm used to 1st person shooters - well not recently but I've played most of them at one point or another, never tried COD or any of the BF titles. I've played the Doom, Quake, Half Life, Overwatch series and they are nothing like BF6, and I'm completely lost as to how I can enjoy this game if I cannot do anything but spawn and die..

Thanks for the replies - I gotta say this is the MOST Frustrating game Ive ever played. From the servers down msgs, and the cant connect to  EA App, to the NOt being able to see or do anything IF I get in a map.

By seeing I mean - I cannot see an enemy at all until IM dead and laying there watching and I see a red shadow of them. Why Cant I see a enemy on the game screen ? Do they only show up as red dots on the mini map ? I cant even move the mini map to the top right which sucks as I think my right eye sees it much better.

Very frustrating game - I spawn in and immedialty am head shot before I get half way across the map. IM used to Death Map Quake 2 -3 where u fight and can see the enemy, in this game I cant even see a thing until Im dead so I cant level  up my weapons, and Im playing the assault class and heard it sucks too but I have a few weapon upgrades and dont want to try any of the other classes. I have 14 kills total since last THursday when I bought the game, at this rate it will be 2125 before I get any upgrades....

I've been playing the Battlefield series for 23 years, and I've played absolutely all of them. And I totally agree with you on one thing. The enemies in Battlefield 6 are quite difficult to see; visibility is poor.

This has never happened to me in any other Battlefield, but in this current one, I'm having trouble seeing where the enemy is.

  • The better the graphics and further they improve their engines, the harder it's become to see the enemy; I personally started having problems in BFV and being able to lay on your back with more realistic camos made it even worse

  • Yep, that's right. It is hard to see the enemies. I changed the enemy color to glowing red, still hard to see so I found a solution. I bought a 160% zoom glasses, I am putting it on while playing, now I see everything clearly.

  • Problem as I see this - the sniper spotting device - requires nothing - you place it somewhere and then it just spots everything in sight. If you are spotted - it is very easy to see you. If you are on a team where not many use this - then you have problems. Snipers on rooftops and place those spotters everywhere - then its hopeless. Next thing compared to BF 2042 - here we also had spot things all over - but here all classes could take smoke nades and run in smoke. In BF 6 only support can have this - unless you have the 320 nade launcher unlocked and pick smoke in that one. I cannot recall the very old BF 3 and 4 - I know here you could also place this spotting device and leave it - but unsure if it was only for vehicles or also people. In BF 6 it requires manual work (push of trigger) to lock / paint the target with this thing - meant for javelins - stingers and so on.

And also remove aim assist - has nothing to do in any game - unless in campaign - but should never be in any multiplayer !

  • As an old Quake player it is hard to adjust from the running around and twitch firing of quake to this , my advice is to slow down a little. Id also recommend playing Breakthrough mode as u dont tend to get shot in the back so frequently. Pressing Q  spots enemies but obviously you have to see them first. TBH atm the assault class with the M433 is crap Imo, that gun cant hit a barn door the smg's are pretty good  as they suffer the least with the bloom in the game. I must admit I wasn't enjoying the game at first for the same issues youre facing but now ive a few unlocks and attachments ,adjusted my rambo'esque play style its become more and more enjoyable. I have played BF since the first one (1942) and even for me its taken a bit of time to get to grips with the new play style of the game. Remember its a team game , so u dont have to take everyone on , on your own.

Yea so IM making a little progress now that IM like level 18, a Little Not Much!! But I finally took the time to See what's going on, so when I was laying there waiting for a medic, I noticed the little red dots above enemies' heads finally. I was too immersed in the beauty of the game to even recognize this at first. I got a few minor gun upgrades now so its getting better. Still get head shot way too often though - should have named myself Head Shot Pinata !!

  • Your BF6 frustration is shared with thousands of newcomers. Former BF2042 had an extra PvE game mode where newcomers could SET THEIR SKILL LEVEL and LEARN TO PLAY versus bots.

For unknown reason, this PvE training game mode was removed in BF6, and now newcomers have to play PvP versus experienced players and are just CANNON FODDER for them.

You could try playing the BF6 RECON class which has gadgets to make enemies visible.   Or return the game if you find being cannon fodder not so enjoyable.

Ohh Im not throwing the towel in but you are correct that we are cannon fodder to people that have been playing for years. All they really need to do is put a level limiter in the game so you can play with people your own level. I dont care about playing Bots - but its hard to play Multi player at level 22 against people that are in the 60's. I even saw a guy at level 113 in a game and he was on the opposite team, I had zero Kills for about 5 matches in a row.
