200+ hours in and I still can't identify the new class symbols.

200+ hours in and I still can't identify the new class symbols with the classes. Anybody else experiencing this? As far as I can tell there is absolutely no logic connecting the symbol design to the classes. Seems needlessly idiotic.

    Same here
I’ve got around 150 hours in the game, and I still don’t understand the logic behind these icons.
Well, to be fair, I can recognize the sniper because the icon more or less looks like a “scope,” and the assault one too.
But when it comes to the engineer and support - that’s just pure nonsense.

  • In my opinion the icons got progressively worse over the years. They are less readable and less recognizable than in previous games.

Battlefield 3 and 4 are great, they take no effort to read, they all have distinct differences and are recognizable. After that it just goes downhill.

    Battlefield 6:

    • The Assault icon reminds me of an arrow or spearhead and it seems fine to me.
    • The Engineer Icon is a hexagon, but it's not as immediately recognizable as a wrench.
    • The Support Icon has diagonal shapes, which make it less recognizable as a cross. A regular cross would have been a better choice.
    • The Recon icon is just terrible, it looks nothing like a scope or anything that I'd associate with Recon.
  • I’ve played a ton, but the only class icon I recognize is the support one because I’m constantly yelling for them to drop me some ammo lol

  • I preffered it when you could tell what class someone was by the character model.

You knew what weapon they were using based on the character skin, it created a nice balance and was great for vehicles spotting threats.

Open weapons has killed the tactical side of the game, you knew how to approach enemies based on class.

  • They should change to simple letters:

S for Assault because it uses the Spawn beacon.

R for Support because they Resupply.

A for Engineer because the Attack Tanks

E for Recon because they identify Enemy.

Intuitively, the example below makes far more sense if you want to be using letters. It's the exact same letters.

    A for Assault
    E for Engineer
    S for Support
    R for Recon

  • Yea the recon one is really dumb. I think its supposed to be a symbol for "spotting"? Also engineers' gotta be tank track but thats also dumb. Assault and support are fine for me.
