Holiday game release window hit, streamer influence window passed, and the general post launch dust has settled.
With a constant stream of games always releasing you just can't really see a single game retain a huge audience for long unless it's a total anomaly.
It's not so much a reflection of the game, but imo the gamer. You play a few matches you get what you want out of the experience and its on to the next thing. Those who stay are gonna be the hardcores, the lasting community members, those kinds. Everyone else probably is checking it out cause XYZ streamer's playing it and they wanna be involved, maybe they got it for christmas, maybe they were just curious about the hype at launch. Perhaps it didnt stick or their fave streamer or friends moved on to other stuff, and thats ok.

The hype was real, and many of my mates who used to play BF2 (2005)/3/4 era actually purchased BF6, hoping for a proper Conquest experience, nice City Maps layouts, decent BR in BF's universe.
Instead, what panned out in BF6 are Domination and King of the Hill, perhaps Escalation.
The number of bugs and minor issues prevented me from playing BF6 weekly. I do not want to be frustrated by the lack of polish/limited playtests, and issues.
If mates continue to accuse me of undermining the flow of the teamplay... what can I say about interrupted revives, object glitching, swapped loadouts, major visual glitches, bugged menus, lack of responsiveness while spamming a key button?
Sorry, I cannot play the game in such shape or form.
Stating that a favourite streamer moved to another game caused players to drop is an understatement. We are not 12 anymore. My generation worships hard work, getting a paycheck that may go to the family budget, and the business. If I ever left my work in such a state as some of the game releases (I don't work for the gov), then I wouldn`t have left anything for a piece of bread.
Many of the original BF devs released a game that has been more consistently successful. So what, again, streamers are to be blamed? I do not think I was left with the same Community experience, Conquest maps as in previous BFs. Even BR feels undercooked without Solos, Trios, and no Proximity Chat.

Not with quick lobbies, maybe some players who do mixes on their private servers.
