Pick a controller and try it for your self how "op" it is. Feels like PC players just refuse to belive that some controller players can actually aim. And btw. That "Snap target" setting doesn't actually snap to targets. It just gives some auto tracking to moving targets while ADS. It's horrible and messes your aim, best just to disable it.

Yes, it is not hard to do. I am mainly a mouse and keyboard player, and I tested the aim assist in this game with a xbox controller on PC. You can clearly feel how it sticks to your target. The slowdown effect is way too strong.. it is even hard to pull your crosshair away from the target.
This combined with the reduced recoil on controller makes controller by far the best input.
The aim assist really needs to be toned down. It could be nerfed by 50% and it would still be good. Yes, I tested all aim-assist settings on 50%, that feel more inline with what I would expect from a balanced aim assist. The reduced recoil for controller also needs to be addressed.
Controller players should also have to learn how to aim.. with the current aim assist all you have to do is learn your controller sensitivity and the game basically aim for you.
I thought the developers said they wanted to go light with aim assist, what happened? Seems like they buffed aim assist after the beta? It was not this obnoxious?- sebass853 months agoRising Traveler
I find the aim assist has just been a negative thing you will he aiming at one target and it will pull to his buddy beside him and then you dont kill anybody

Yeah, I agree. Similar problem if you aim at a target with his back to you, and then another enemy pops up facing your direction.. then you would like to focus the enemy looking at you first, but sometimes It is actually hard to switch target with how sticky the aim assist is. I understand this is frustrating while using a controller, but it is also very frustrating playing against controller players that just don't miss and you are dying in situations where you feel like you normally shouldn't.
How the aim assist currently feels with how strong it is makes it very good in some scenarios, but bad in others. I think they should try to adjust the strength so it is more balanced overall. The player has to do more of the aiming, which will also feel better in a lot of situations with either multiple or moving targets.
I still think the reduced recoil for controller is the biggest issue when it comes to balance between the inputs though, as it affect much more than "just the recoil". It makes other weapons and attachments more viable for controller players, allowing them to build the weapons better, as they are not as dependent on attachments to lower the recoil. This will be an even bigger issue with the Battle Royale mode, as you more often fight with weapons without preferred attachments.

This is loterally the most pain in the a$$ aim assust ive ever experienced in any game. Im not sure where you experienced it sticking to the target because it resists the target for me. I aim and the crosshair stays just to the right of target even if i push toward the target. It seems to “stick” just shy of the target, if anything. I’m playing PS5, if that makes any difference IDK

"By far the best" I love absolutes from someone random opinion. lol
I say controller is by far NOT the best input, from having both, using both, and being over the age of 35. It's a mess on PS5 and I spend 20 minutes a day messing with it to feel AS GOOD as M&K.

So no, you can't fathom blaming yourself because it'll bruise your ego.

I don't even understand what you are trying to say with that comment. lol

That's from someone's random opinion. I can agree that my statement is not 100% correct though, it does depend on the situation.

"Tell me your bad with controller without telling me your bad with controller"
As I said before, the aim assist in this game is very good in some situations, but it can be very frustrating in others. It really shines in 1v1 gunfights where your opponent is trying to shoot you back.
It is a good thing for both m&k and controller players that they address this and is looking at a way to balance both aim assist and (removing) the reduced recoil, as they said they will. Looking forward to see how it feels after the balance update.

I mean, you can say "pick up a controller," but the reality is aim assist in this game absolutely does influence gunfights. It is not about whether controller players can aim or not, obviously many can. The issue is that controller has built-in rotational tracking and very low recoil compensation, while mouse has to manually control all of that.
On controller, the weapons kick way less because the stick input is smoothed and stabilized.
On mouse:
Recoil is full strength, pixel for pixel.
You have to manually counter every vertical and horizontal movement yourself. On controller:
Recoil is filtered so it does not spike or jitter.
The aim assist system helps keep the reticle from drifting off the target. So yes, controller does effectively have less recoil.
So "learn to aim" goes both ways. Try turning aim assist completely off and see how different it feels. It is not the same as PC aiming. And saying "Snap does not work, so it is fine" does not change the fact that rotational aim assist is the real strong part.
No hate to controller players, just saying the assist plus recoil smoothing is a real mechanical advantage in close and mid range fights.
Skill is skill, but if the game is correcting your tracking and smoothing your recoil, that is an advantage. Just be honest about that part.
i would say Option to turn off Crossplay has to be there.. but EA is afraid their game gonna die. (probably soon it will die anyway like BF V firestorm) - BlacAttac11 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
I like the tracking i fine tuned it plus the fact that you can just disable it why remove something when you can just adjust the settings
