I have my controller Right stick set to Prone, instead of Melee. I did this because, if anything, I am more likely to survive if I trigger Prone than Melee. In the past, when it was set to Melee, and I put slightly too much pressure on the stick - which will happen when you're trying to react quickly - I would suddenly start swinging my gun around. Which only made me more vulnerable to getting killed. Whereas with Prone, I will drop down and likely dodge shots. BUT, the problem is clear.
All I want to do is aim my weapon with my Right stick. I should not be forced to add an action to the stick. PC players don't have to worry about it, because they're not forced to trigger anything when aiming. So, why do the devs force console players to put an action on the stick they're aiming their gun with? It makes no sense to FORCE this onto the player. Yet, they do.
We should have a setting that allows us to check a box for the Right stick (or whichever stick you use to aim) that says "AIM ONLY". Why the devs for COD or BF, haven't figured this out yet is mind boggling. We are humans. Not programmable machines. We cannot apply a specific amount of pressure when playing or responding quickly. And changing "deadzone" or any other setting doesn't help. Just let us aim our weapons. It's that simple.
