My understanding is mouse and keyboard is much easier to aim with than controller. So it's not so much a skill based issue, it's a hardware issue. So aim assist is supposed to make up for the hardware gap, not skill gap.
However they seem to have over-tuned the aim assist.
If aiming is done for you, you can focus on other things. Like jumping and ducking while being shot.
I see that a lot. It is impressive that you can out duck shots at 2 meters...but..it can be done in game..lol

The aiming isn't "done" for you. They just announced they will be nerfing aim assist for console players. As a console player I don't care about them nerfing it, because I don't experience any aim assist anyway. The only thing I experience is what someone else described, when there's multiple enemies, your reticle starts slowly pulling back and forth between the enemies, not locking to their bodies, just slowly moving to where they are which makes aiming even harder.
All the time I see pc players say aim assist does everything for you and it's not fair. Maybe it's like that in CoD, at least that's what I hear. But in BF6 it is not. If anyone disagrees, please plug in a controller and see for yourself. In fact, I feel at such a disadvantage against pc players in this game that I finally turned off cross-play and my games have been much better. I haven't been shot through walls in days!

What is your mouse DPI? And what is your infantry mouse aim sensitivity in BF6?
My mouse DPI is 800 and my mouse aim sensitivity is 30. Otherwise I overaim.
