Basic Barrel Attachments Need Better Utility and Clearer Stat

I can understand where you’re coming from on this one. When visibility already feels rough, missing a setting that helped in older Battlefield games can make that even more frustrating, especially when it affects how comfortable it feels to aim and track enemies.

This setting was present in previous BF games.

In the BF6 beta, it was enabled via the notepad.

It will allow you to use lower-magnification sights, allowing you to see your enemies better. Because right now, even with a good high-Hz, high-resolution monitor, you can't see anything. And playing with a 90-degree field of view is also bad—you'll get shot from the side.

Benitto51​ Makes sense. Having the stat changes written out directly would be a lot easier to read than trying to interpret vague descriptions, especially when you just want to know what an attachment is actually doing to your weapon.

The ADS FOV settings had a big impact on how the game felt from one setup to another. Was that one mainly about comfort for you, or more about keeping your aim and visual feel consistent?

"A simple graph"? Let's break this down.
Right now, weapons already have two damage values: head and body.
Right now, headshot damage already varies by ammo type.
And that's not just one image.
If they later add damage dependency on barrels, the number of required graphs goes up.
And if they then add dependency on attachments—how many images would we need then? Dozens? Hundreds?

The issue isn't "just adding one PNG." The issue is that every new variable multiplies the number of required graphs. And that quickly stops being a "simple" menu improvement.

Painknight​ This is definitely valid, especially on the stat presentation side. Since Battlefield 6 already runs on underlying numerical weapon values and attachment tradeoffs, I agree that the current bars and vague labels can make it harder than it should be to understand what you are actually changing on a build.

You also make a good point about the attachment spread feeling uneven. When one path has more breakpoint variety, and the others do not, it naturally pushes people toward the same few choices over and over.

When you talk about the tagging problem, are you mainly asking for a firing-based reveal to stop creating the full Dorito-style spot unless an enemy actually tags you first?

And on the attachment side, would you want every barrel family to have matching step options like 15, 20, 25, and 30, so the choice feels more about playstyle than just picking the only tier that exists?

I was only referring to the damage drop graph. Adding one PNG photo of each gun to the loadout menu is literally nothing.

Their menu has a million useless tiles that confuse players. The menu is already full of useless, FPS-hogging, and distracting things; an extra photo won't be a problem.

The menu layout, store, and inventory customization are literally the worst. So the suggestion to make everything a little more CLEAR is more than acceptable.

A damage graph at different ranges right in the menu? That's a pipe dream.

If you also factor in attachments for TTK calculations, the volume of data would multiply several times over.

It's easy to do by changing the descriptions. It would be much more convenient if the random handle literally stated -10% recoil. It would be easier for regular players to understand how the game works.

Specifically, I'm most looking forward to the return of the ADS FOV setting.

The tagging system in general is what's broken, not just in relation to barrel attachments.  Though, it's a fair point to say getting tagged just for firing is a really bad design decision.  I'm totally OK with showing up on the mini-map, but the doritos need to be reserved for when people ACTUALLY tag you, and not just because you're playing the game.  

In terms of showing stats, all it's really going to take is a UI change.  Everything is already a numerical system with additions and subtractions, I have no idea why they decided to instead use a bar graph and "slightly, moderately, significantly" identifiers.  

An actual damage graph would be pointless.  Since they use a flat reduction instead of exponential, all you really need to know is full damage distance falloff and everything after that is effectively the same.

I'll also add that ALL attachments need more attachment point variety.  In your picture we see there are no 15 point attachments.  Suppressors work, with 20, 25 and then 30 point options.  Brakes should have the same variety, there should be a 15 point brake and flash hider.
