Battle Pass Challenges are a Chores, Not Fun
I really hate to say this, but the Battle Pass challenges in this game are honestly way too grindy and annoying to complete.
- Forcing Players into Unwanted Modes: The biggest issue is that the game forces me to try modes I have zero interest in. I genuinely don't care about Redsec, but these challenges mandate that I play it. I feel like I'm going to lose the motivation to even launch the game soon.
- Ridiculous Difficulty: A lot of the tasks are unnecessarily difficult, especially for an average player like me. Challenges like requiring you to get multi-kills in Team Deathmatch or specifically using air vehicles are just frustrating. I can't stand being constantly restricted by challenges when all I want is to hop in and play the way I like.
A Better System Exists (Look at Apex!)
- Better Example: I think APEX Legends, also from EA, is a great model to learn from. In APEX, almost all Battle Pass challenges revolve around simple tasks: get X number of kills, play 10 matches with a certain legend type, deal X amount of damage with a specific weapon type, etc.
- Flexibility is Key: Crucially, APEX lets you complete these challenges by playing both Battle Royale and all other modes. If you really want to encourage players to try the BR mode, you can make the challenges complete faster in BR, but you shouldn't lock them to only that mode!
