Battle Pass impressions

Right now, there’s just too much pressure for players to complete challenges and earn Battle Pass points in a certain way. The Battle Pass doesn’t feel like a fun bonus anymore; it feels more like a second job with a deadline (and I've had enough of that in real life).

Main Issues (Not just mine)

1. The challenges for leveling up the Battle Pass are tied to different game modes.
Battle Royale has a player limit of 2 or 4. I can't complete these challenges alone, so I miss out on valuable points that could help me avoid a ton of grinding. My friends don't want to play this mode, and honestly, I’m not super eager either. This isn’t the mode I bought the game for.

2. Increased experience needed to earn 1 Battle Pass point.
I’ve noticed it’s not as bad as in 2042, but it’s still there. This leads to excessive grinding during the final stages of the Battle Pass. It forces you to focus on weekly challenges, which come with their own problems (see point 1).

Suggestions

1. Decouple weekly challenges from specific modes or reduce the requirements.
Completing 15 missions in Battle Royale feels impossible for me. 1 to 3 would be way more manageable, and I might even be tempted to try that mode. The last Battle Pass in 2042 (the road to Battlefield 6) had great challenges. They were interesting and didn’t demand all my free time.

2. Make the Battle Pass permanent.
Everyone could set their own pace and level up as they like. Veteran players could come back to catch up on what they missed. New players could choose a Battle Pass they like from those available in the shop. Maybe they could even pick a few. Who knows?

  • it’s just way too slow to earn tokens. The whole system for the battle-pass could’ve and should’ve been done better. If you’re not getting the challenges done, you barely get one or two tokens a match, and it takes forever just to unlock a single thing. The worst part is the rewards aren’t even that great lol😅🙃

  • I could get many of the challenges in Battlefield 2042 by just playing the game as intended and doing my own thing.

Battlefield 6 is the complete opposite. Unless I specifically go out of my way to complete a challenge, it's not likely that I'd ever complete it.

That's not a problem by itself, but it does become a bit annoying when you have limited time to complete them. I'd certainly love it if they'd just ditch the FOMO and ditch the time constraints.

Yeah, I agree. The Battle Pass in BF6 feels like it's built around the idea of potentially missing out on rewards with how slow it is instead of natural progression. In 2042 you could just play how you wanted and still make steady progress, it's the same for a few other games too, but now you're basically forced to grind specific challenges if you want to get anywhere.
Wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if older passes stayed active after a season ended, letting you keep earning tokens toward them at the same time as working on the new ones, as long as you actually owned the pass during its original season.

  • Thsi is why I didn't bother with the Battlepass. You literally have to play 8 hours a day to get it all done.
