Battlefield on Ice

Jumped into a game of domination today, and it was an absolute farce.

Everyone was sliding around on their knees whilst shooting. Is this what Battlefield has become?
Is this EA trying to appease the COD fanbase, because that's what it feels like.

This has got to be nerfed surely??
