BF6 Engineer Challenge, Shoot 50 aircraft down.

Hi just started this challenge and its a little grindy but that's fine, I don't know if its intentional but when a pilot jumps out of an airborne vehicle that you or another engineer has damaged you get a medal for them abandoning it but since it isn't "destroyed" you don't get progression on this challenge. This is massively going to impede some people getting this challenge done as most jet pilots dive out when damaged. Especially in conquest where the jet spawn times seem to be quite quick. Is there any chance "disabling" the aircraft could be counted instead?
