Bring bots back in portal for casual gamers

I hope the devs understand how many of us are just average Joes where after 10 hours of work we just want to shoot some rifles and smash some bots. We want to have fun in the game but we have so much responsiblity in life and we just need a moment to escape from relatity without being competitive. I was shocked when I saw the patch notes today saying that the game is meant to be played as pvp not pve.

We don't want to cheat and we don't want to spend hours on it after a long day at work. So it is legal for us to just chill out in our own bots room and enjoy the game at its purest? Is this against the law to have backfill bots in a local environment where you are the only player that's trying to have fun? Can you please go get the cheaters and hackers and not some exhausted middle aged men/women? For the love of God bring back the backfill bots option in Portal.
