Can Someone Explain How EA's Moderation Logic Works?

I'm genuinely curious how this is supposed to make sense.

I received an official warning for typing "stfu" in chat in BF6. That was the entirety of my message.

This was aimed at another player that had been constantly flaming in chat and making the match unpleasant for everyone involved. Naturally, I reported that player.

EA's response? No action taken. No rules broken. What exactly is the lesson players are supposed to take away from this? Because from where I'm sitting, it seems that actually creating a toxic environment is less of a problem than responding to it with the wrong combination of four letters.

I fully understand that "stfu" isn't the most polite thing to say. That's not really the point. The point is that moderation should be capable of distinguishing between someone spending an entire match harassing others and someone reacting with a single frustrated comment.

It's difficult to have confidence in the reporting system when the outcomes feel this disconnected from what actually happened in chat

Sorry to hear you had a negative in-game interaction with other players.

Even if another player was toxic first, responding in the same way can still pull you into unnecessary conflict and may also put your own account at risk. You can check out our rules and the Battlefield Community Charter to learn more about what we expect from players.

It’s good that you reported the player at the time. However, for privacy reasons, we’re not able to share what action may or may not be taken against another player. Thank you for your understanding.

    What understanding? There's NO understanding.

You punished ME for saying "Stfu". And then you informed me that there was no disciplinary action taken to the other player who WAS aggressively cursing to other players.

I don't mind cursing. I don't mind people flaming in chat. I don't care if some other **bleep** on the other side of the world is cursing at me from his mom's basement. My "negative in-game interaction" comes from EA themselves. Because EA is issuing inconsistent warnings and bans for cursing.... in an MATURE-rated video game.

You're not my mom, you don't need to "protect me from the naughty words". Especially not when your in-game soldiers are cursing left and right.
