Can't casually play and get weapon XP in portal

Goodbye battlefield 6. It was great when it started, casually playing until people began farming XP. Why not do a level cut off with weapons on portal or cut xp in half. The only reason I bought this was to casually play portal with friends. Done playing until xp returns in portal. No reason to play if I can't level up my weapon. EA ruining the game already.

  • I know what you mean. For me the only sweaty human lobbies for progression is a clear no for continuing. I just want to chill and hang out with some people and have a chance of enjoyment. So I bring my money to some other games. Bye Bye.

  • Battle-Casual dad here,

I only bought the game so I could chillax with my buddies on private community servers, and was working on creating my own in portal, that we could play on privately when our group wanted to challenge each other.   Nothing exploitive, and granted FULL XP like it was advertised.     In the interim we we playing on bot backfill servers, and enjoying our time, especially when we got on servers with 4 - 8 real people on the other teams.   Made the game exciting.

But none of us are enjoying the high stakes live sweat servers, with all the battle chads running around.   So the DEV's just turned off any hope of progression for me.

Guess I am done ... I will wait for a bit 2 patches at best .... to see if they revert the changes or come up with a better fix.  If not, I will request a refund (steam will prolly be d1cks about it.)   But this is false advertisement at it's best.

I wouldn't be surprised if a class action is launched.

  • Yeah for us players who aren't sweats it really kills our ability to have any progression. Especially weapon masteries. You can't get those by PTFO.

Most of the non-balance problems the game has are all related to tying unlocks to weapon masteries. assignments, challenges, etc instead of player level. That was a really bad choice overall - and the fallout of it hasn't hit yet. People who got the attachments unlocked have a massive advantage over those who didn't. This is a long term problem and it's going to ruin the experience in official lobbies the longer legit xp farms are denied to new players.

  • 100% agree they should sort out the obvios xp farming portals not stop casuals enjoying the game

Thats the point. If I spin up a verified game mode with bot backfill and no other alterations on the offered config, I don't get the progression XP. That's a clear discnonection form stated feature set we should have.

It's really very simple they can not support the software they are selling. They do not seem to have a Quota on the number of sales. All this Baloney about "XP Farming" is total BS and as far as I can tell "XP Farming" is not a recognized legal terminology by any Court. It is 100% a "Money For Nothing" scheme. And their use of the term is an attempt to belittle and besmirch People. It is a scheme and I will detail it's set up one more time.

    Market and sell some software.

Set up two types of servers, one an actual server running the software, and another cheap old tech one to pump out some BS messaging 100,000 times a minute until it fries. The cheapies cost about 1/100th of the real deal. As time goes by and they sell more copies of the software they only add more and more cheap throw aways ... thus the scam is complete.

Sit back and watch the money roll in.

I did not see any mention of a Global Quota when they pitched the product.
