Why is it we never hear from EA on this topic? So many reports of reasonable suspicion of cheating, things simply unachievable otherwise. Yet zero response from EA. No admittance, course of action, even "under investigation".. nothing.
Here is an insult to injury story.. So I was banned years ago from an EA FPS.. I knew my account had been hacked prior to being banned.. you could see from my K:D, or any other score I was obviously not hacking prior to the suspicious activity. I believe at the time I was under 1:1 K/D. I wasn't a strong player.. I noticed my score began to rise unexpectedly, and looking at login/play logs, I was shown online when I physically was not. I immediately went into my account and noticed someone had changed my password. Luckily I caught it in time to do a password recovery. I did so, changed my email address and any other credentials I could think of to keep someone from getting back in. At one point, I found some phone number from Germany (I am in the US) that someone added to my account. I called it, but as you can imagine, no one answered.
I notified EA medially of suspected activity, and received just the canned initial response. "we will look into..." A week or so later, I received a permanent ban. I pleaded my case, provided all attempted communication prior to the ban along with the questionable phone number and any other pertinent information. After a few weeks of trying, I simply received a similar response - "our determination is final". They obviously had no intention of investigating my case.
So from the opposite end of the spectrum, not only does EA not seem to be addressing the obvious cheating issue, they are also clearly not addressing the issue of stolen accounts, even in the event that obvious proof of no wrong-doing on the behalf of a paying customer.
Poor business practice. They can do better.
Yes its very frustrating and as someone who does regular reports this is how it works and trust me its frustrating as hell.
Ive done 12 reports in the last month:
2 Had action taken against them within a day.
4 Had no action taken (This actually translates that someone else has placed a report in and its still under investigation and you wont hear about the outcome)
The others haven't heard boo.
EA uses AI technology to analyse data captured when you do the report and then makes a decision, if its unable to decide it gets palmed back to a customer service operator for review.
