"Classic" class weapon restrictions added for Open Beta as an option.

I'm all in on the rock paper scissors balance from bf3, you can only get that with locked class weapons.

So I will certainly only be playing locked weapons in the open beta.

Another hope of mine is way less gadgets.

When it comes to gadgets less is more, less is easier to balance and plays into the rock paper scissors balance approach.
