I’ve noticed the lack of attention to detail in the Battlefield 6 beta compared to the older titles. Each faction in bf3 had their own vehicles (helicopters, tanks etc.) plus each has their own weapons for each faction when you started out in multiplayer. For example if you played with the Americans you had to use the m4 and if you played as the Russians you had to use the AK-47. Very cool features. Also, the guns and vehicles do not have that “feel” to them like previous titles. Like when you’re operating a tank it just feels more like I’m playing ground war from MW 2019. And when I’m in a firefight it feels like I’m playing titanfall. But here is the big one, why in the world did the devs decide to make HALF the classes women? Serious question. This is a WAR game portraying frontline combat. And every game I’ve played in the Beta 70% of the battle chatter is women screaming and barking orders. This is very unnecessary and immersion breaking. You’re forced to play as one for the good classes as well like support, engineer, and recon. This leads to the team being overwhelmingly women. Now no disrespect to women in the military, I believe women play a pivotal part in support roles in the military. But this is a game about frontline combat. 99.9% of modern infantry are males for obvious reasons. You guys are trying to mimic the ogs bc2, bf3 and bf4 so might as well make the classes all male like those games. Overall I’ve decided not to purchase the game. I believe the hay day of battlefield may be over for good unfortunately. RIP battlefield

I’ll entertain you dude, you’re not going down the straight up misogyny route so well done.
You’re 100% right to ask for the option to choose gender, that should be an option in the full game and I do expect it to be there as it has been a choice in previous titles, it is the beta after all and skin / player customisation isn’t in the game. Yes women are a tiny portion of people on the frontlines but they are there in TCCC roles 100% and find themselves same awful situations as men, maybe not the absolute zero line but they are ostensibly on the frontline. Anyway, it’s besides the point for a video game in 2025, plenty of women play war games / are into guns and the military and it’s only fair they’re represented in the gaming world. This also applies in reverse and why we need the option, as it’s only fair that men get to play as men too.
(removed as now irrelevant)
I don’t agree it’s over, I’ve put the most time into a BF game in nearly a decade this weekend and there’s a lot I’m excited for. A few tweaks and clarifications and this will be my main line game for a long while to come.
Again, if it’s not for you, totally valid dude. But if the words of a BF vet help bring you around I think we should hold tight and at least check out the second beta weekend for rush and new maps!
Hopefully see you out there brother.

I like your optimism, I might hop on the beta next weekend to check for updates. I’ll admit there has been a lot of improvements compared to the last entry. But I’m sure you know as well as I do for this game meet the mark of it’s predecessors (besides the last two) it has to stay grounded and true to it’s core fundamentals.
