It’s incredibly obvious that Battlefield 6 has diversity quotas implemented. Almost every operator is a woman, a minority, or a woman minority. This extends to the campaign as well. Male operators are locked behind challenges for most classes and there are only a couple of white men to choose from, one of which is the Albion engineer which they won’t even let you unlock at all for some baffling reason.
And before anyone starts crying “racism” or “sexism” or whatever, just stop. This is about accurate representation. I don’t want be forced to play as a woman in a multiplayer game. I’m a white man and I want to be represented in this game. Ironically it seems that representation for some cannot exist without the marginalization of others. And in this case, the marginalized are the majority. Most of the people who play Battlefield are men. Many of whom are white. According to BF6, we barely exist in modern warfare. Despite the fact that the glory days of Battlefield 3 and 4 had a bunch of men (again, mostly white) running around killing each other and everyone felt right at home.
Most of us don’t want to hear women screaming on a battlefield. It’s not realistic and breaks immersion. It’s also somewhat disturbing. Gunning down women isn’t exactly my idea of a fun time. But if you’re going to offer women in modern combat, I get it. It’s 2025. But it should at least be optional. The default operators are half women and you have to grind to change it. It’s forced by default. And on the NATO faction, there isn’t even a male to play as for the support class at all. You’re forced to play as a woman if you run support. I don’t think this was an oversight, it seems to have been done on purpose.
BF6 should have gone the BFV route and let us make our own operators. But since they aren’t doing that, there needs to be more options for characters. You want to make all these different race/gender options for operators? Ok fine. Again, I get it. But they need to be OPTIONAL. You want to play as a black woman for every class? Fine. Asian man? Ok. White man? Yes. This only seems to cut one way and it’s very obvious. It’s extremely alienating. I say this as someone who has been playing Battlefield since about 2010.
I am requesting for more character options for Battlefield 6 so that we can represent ourselves in the game as we want to. I’m all about player choice. Right now Battlefield 6 is extremely lacking in that department and I don’t care very much for it. I like the game. I have fun playing it. I just want to be more immersed in it when I play. I’m not getting that right now.

I played the beta when it was out, and I guess I didn’t notice or wasn’t paying attention to the characters. I just got the game and I was going through everything, and I completely agree. I’m a white female and prefer to use males as my character in shooters. But it’s blatantly obvious that white people are being underrepresented. And the fact that the support class is mostly female is crazy to me. They should make it so we have the option to pick our gender, race etc. They’re going beyond “pc” and it’s just so obvious and annoying at this point. I’m all for diversity in games, but what about white characters?! lol ridiculous. Other than this issue I’m having a blast playing this game, but I think they should definitely do something about this.

Whilst I have no time for people who cry over the gender or race of a character in a video game - says a lot about them! I don't understand why DICE just don't let players make their own choice. If a female player wants a female character -great, same with which ever ethnicity you choose to play. Simple. Unless DICE are worried that the vast majority of players are white males, and that's bad for some reason ( it wouldn't be) just let people choose.

It is because equity and inclusion doesn't include white men. We are everything that is wrong with the world, remember?

Personally I don't really care about representation. I couldn't care less about the skin color, ethnicity or whether I'm male/female, as long as it makes sense within the context of the game world. Having said that, I think Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is an extremely insidious and harmful concept that I wish EA would get rid of in its entirety.

yes, let me play as a man! Let ME choose that, and dont FORCE us to play as a woman only, EA!!!!
Its really annoying and RUINS the whole gameplay !! :(

You can buy a skin pack, then you can play with a white male in all classes. I don't know if you are aware, but the bought skins can be used for all classes. So once you have bought for example Tom Campbell (The 323) you can play him also as Recon, Assault and Engineer and not only as Support.
I mixed and matched all my soldiers so they are all male. It really works.
You see they are all male for me.
Just for the lols I just made all of them Tom lol.

Holy **bleep** what a bunch of sour crybabys some of u are. From all the problems this game has, you focus on the game having women and minorities. Please go outside and take a look at how many women and people of color actually serve in the army! Get well soon.

The community has been so ridiculous about this topic for ages. I remember people going crazy about a female being in the BFV trailer. The level of ignorance to have an issue with females being in Battlefield is baffling.
I remember a time when Dice would stand up for something, for themselves, now they're subservient to these types of players. You can only say things from a certain perspective, you can't even denounce extremes without getting a ban. Dice has been compromised, and I think it has to do with this upcoming Saudi investment fund deal. That's why I'm personally done buying anything from EA or Dice ever again.

I don't understand why the customisation from Battlefield v is replaced by this system, it seems like a downgrade. I don't particularly care, but it's more the reasoning behind it that bothers me.
Suddenly the simple truth hits me... EA being EA is obviously going to lock the white guys behind a paywall. Probably they thought it would be the most financially beneficial.
