Cosmetic Feedback
Unfortunately, this is an opinionated topic, so do with it what you will. I was told to post to the EA Forums in regards to feedback on the game, so that's what I'm doing in hopes that maybe this will change or influence future content.
I wanted to give appreciation and critique on cosmetics that work and don't work. I have paid for both of these, so I feel I've earned the privilege to give feedback on this topic, instead of just showing up to twitter and saying "this looks dumb lol."
So, with that out of the way, my favourite cosmetic that i bought instantly, was the Flatline outfit for the Pax Armata Support class. The outfit is not incredibly out there visually, which i value in cosmetics, Most times when i'm looking for cosmetics, it's not to stand out like a glow stick. it's grounded in a way that makes it believable for an operative to be donning, and has very appropriate gear for the circumstances the character will be put in.
This is an example of the direction i want BF6's cosmetics to go in, this type of stuff, keep up the great work!
In regards to Basilisk for Pax Armata Assault class, I bought this cosmetic after thinking on it for a while but later found myself not wanting to use the outfit. The gear is fantastic and very cool model wise (gas mask, padding, etc), but the colors are super out there and not what I look for in a cosmetic. With that being said, I enjoy the Pax Armata's use of yellow tape, tags, and features. My issue comes from the visor, and camouflage. there's a little too much going on visually contrasting the outfit, instead of being little additions to add flavor, it all melds together and looks too busy for an operative to be wearing. This on top of the strange use of turquoise is too out there for what is meant to be a uniform.
I'd love to see this outfit recolored to be closer to the other urban color palettes that the Pax use, as well as commiting the visor to be either black, clear or a flat colour that looks more appropriate to a mass produced mask of its kind, instead of the strange yellow gradient it currently has.
the direction this outfit is going for model wise, is fantastic, but the thing holding it back from being a big winner is the incredibly out there colors.
I hope this makes it somewhere close to a devs desk, but I imagine they have bigger issues on their hands at the moment.
Best of luck DICE!
