Like most PC's or atleast how I have all my gaming stuff set up.. are usually right next to the home's main router. Because players want the lowest latency possible for competitive shooters and faster download speeds for massive games, a huge number of console gamers choose to run a direct Ethernet cable. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Pretty much all Game developers, Esports organizations & competitive leagues all recommend wired connections aswell.
Wi-Fi 6 Speed Doesn't Matter, Wired Connections Can Still Lag and Online gaming uses a microscopic amount of bandwidth usually under 1 Mbps, You do not need the massive download speeds of Wi-Fi 6 to game smoothly even a 15-year old router can handle that tiny data load easily.
Even if you could play in a 100% PC-only lobby where every single player is hardwired, desync and lag will still happen. An Ethernet cable only stabilizes your local network. Once that data hits the router, a bad ISP, regional node congestion, server-side issues, or background PC apps choking your bandwidth will cause the exact same packet loss
Battlefield 6 servers run at a 60Hz tick rate, meaning the server only updates the game state 60 times per second (once every 16.6 milliseconds). No matter how fast a Wi-Fi 6 router is, it physically cannot receive game updates faster than the server is willing to generate them. Wi-Fi 6 Can't Fix a Choking Server.
Missed Ticks = Super Bullets, When a server gets overloaded by players, bullets, explosives and heavy destruction, it cannot maintain that 60Hz rate. The server drops ticks, clumps the delayed damage together, and unloads it all on you in the next successful tick. That is what causes instant-death "super bullets" and a faster router does absolutely nothing to prevent it.
And also almost every modern mid-range to high-end PC motherboard has high-speed Wi-Fi built directly in. Manufacturers wouldn't spend the money to make it standard if millions of desktop gamers weren't actively using it.
