EA Lays Off Staff Across Battlefield Studios

Just found an article that staff have been laid off across all bf6 studios in the last few days

What does that mean for us, well the list could be long...

Patches/Fixes delayed and trickled through.
Future seasons late.
Support getting dropped

Game should just end up being a **** dumpster..at this rate

I read about this too. It's no wonder that if four studios can't create one good game, then Houston, we have a problem.

It's amazing that once upon a time, one studio managed to create such masterpieces as Battlefield 3, 4, and Bad Company 2, and now...

  • It's not a surprise considering they did a great marketing campaign, then suddenly gave us a Call of Duty clone, with tiny maps, AI generated content via those stickers and badges, then basically decided to give us a roadmap of small content, which they seem hell bent on sticking with.

EA is also being sold off to Saudi Arabian and other big investors, so if there's any chance of it being sincere to players wishes, that's basically out the window now. A very poor show so far. They really need to up the quality of their work majorly.

  • If true, it is sad news.

Why would a company worth billions upon billions of market cap + after pocketing a huge stratospheric income with the launch of BF6  now all of a sudden need to lay off people...?

I'm not a communist, but this is dramatically wrong in so many ways.

just saw enders YouTube vid for this matter. This sound bad ,not feeling very confident in this game future.. The live service model  is awful in its current state.
Drip-feeding content not serve anyone ,not the game or the players.

     And now this ?

  • To be fair, many of the folks layed off probably have limited use now that we are on season 2.  They were likely hired during development and launch, not post launch.  I worked at a game publishing company years ago and this was the routine...hire a large crew, then after launch, either reassign them to other games in the pipe line, or lay them off.

Very true. However considering the current state of the game, and the fact it's suffering from glitches and lackluster design, id be inclined to say that it's only a bad thing, especially when EA is as rich as they come.
