EA, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

  • You never open your eyes anymore
  • When I load your app
  • And there's no exhilaration like before
  • At my fingertips
  •
  • You're trying hard not to show it (EA)
  • But, EA, EA, I know it
  •
  • You've lost that Battlefield' feelin'
  • Whoa, that Battlefield' feelin'
  • You've lost that Battlefield' feelin'
  • Now it's almost gone, gone, gone, whoa-oh-oh-oh
  •
  • Now there's no welcome look in your eyes
  • When I turn on my CPU for you
  • And EA, you're starting to criticize
  • Little things I do
  •
  • It makes me just feel like crying (EA)
  • 'Cause, EA, something beautiful's dying
  •
  • You've lost that lovin' feelin'
  • Whoa, that Battlefield' feelin'
  • You've lost that lovin' feelin'
  • Now it's gone, gone, gone, whoa-oh-oh-oh
  •
  • EA, EA, I've upgraded my computer for you
  • If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah
  • We had a game, a game, a game you don't find every day
  • So don't, don't, don't, don't let it slip away
  • EA (EA), EA (EA)
  • I beg of you, please (Please), please (Please)
  • I need your DEVs (I need your DEVs)
  • I need your DEVs (I need your DEVs)
  • To, bring it on back (So bring it on back)
  • Bring it on back (So bring it on back)
  •
  • Bring back that Battlefield' feelin'
  • Whoa, that Battlefield' feeling
  • Bring back that Battlefield' feelin'
  • 'Cause it's gone, gone, gone
  • And I can't go on, whoa-oh-oh
  •
  • Bring back that Battlefield' feelin'
  • Whoa, that Battlefield' feelin'
  • Bring back that Battlefield' feelin'
  • 'Cause it's gone, gone...

I have a fairly consistent latency between 1ms to 6ms and in matches that everyone is around 60ms of my latency time, the game plays great with no netcode or hit marker issues, everything connects and it just all works.

In matches that have VPN players or players too far out of area with ping times between 100ms-350ms+ is when everything starts falling apart. The lower the players latency to the server, the more the game degrades into a soup of lost shots, invisible players, and instant kills. All it takes are a few high latency players on the sever to make the game completely unplayable for everyone. The netcode breaks if the latency range between the highest and lowest latency player on the server is too wide. From what I’ve encountered the netcode seems to have a 60ms sweet spot range. Keep all the players on any given server all within 60ms of each other and you’re golden.

Fix matchmaking to take players ping into consideration, do not matchmake rounds only by rank or skill level. Group players in 60ms ranges of each other. (1ms-60ms), (61ms-120ms), (121ms-180ms), etc.… If anyone joins in on a game and jumps drastically out of range of everyone else, they should be instantly kicked to preserve the integrity of the match for all the other players on the server.

We should not be seeing players in matches with actual ping times from 150ms-3700ms+ over everyone else. Yes, you read that correctly, 3700ms+ and every time it happens it ruins the gameplay for everyone.

  • They actually do already matchmake players by just ping pretty much.

As the lobby takes longer and longer to fill to minimum, it will pull players from the next region over to accommodate.

but this wouldn’t be necessary if they fix the matchmaking lobby system flaw. I detailed the issue here, if you can add a comment it will help get the problem fixed sooner:
