Feedback on Multiplayer Experience for Beginners

As a newcomer to multiplayer shooters (my only experience was CS about 15 years ago), I’ve found Battlefield 6 extremely challenging for beginners.

I’ve reached level 20 and completed most quests, but mainly by supporting my team—healing, marking, repairing, shooting from vehicles etc.
When it comes to close-combat shooting, earning kills is nearly impossible for me. I only manage a handful per round. This is honestly frustrating, since the majority of players seem to be highly experienced, making levels feel meaningless—someone at level 1, but with lots of shooter experience, can easily outperform a level 20 beginner like me.

To make the game more satisfying for beginners, I suggest two major improvements:

Let Players Choose Experience Level
Similar to campaign mode, players should be able to pick their experience level or skill bracket when joining multiplayer. This would allow beginners to play with others at the same skill level, and let experts avoid matches with less experienced players.
The result: better matches and enjoyment for everyone from rookies to pros.

• Introduce Proper Training Modules
Battlefield isn’t just “run and shoot”— teamwork and working with class abilities are central.
I didn’t realize how vital these elements were until I watched YouTube tutorials.
The game desperately needs in-depth tutorial missions or a training mode that covers teamworking, class abilities, and key mechanics. This would help new players understand what makes Battlefield unique and get up to speed before entering real matches.

Thank you for considering this feedback. These changes would make Battlefield 6 far more welcoming and enjoyable for players at every level

  • Letting players choose what skill level to play at is a really bad idea, you will get try hards joining noob games to get easy kills and to power trip.

What I recommend doing is sticking with it, watch a few basic fps guides to help you improve aiming etc and just keep learning as you play, it does get rewarding as it starts to come together.

There is a shooting range... but unfortunately, no proper testing ground with vehicles as in BF4, or some type of testing grounds or mini TDM with 4 friends in the lobby. More could have been done in this matter.

  • You’ve now only played a beta. When the game releases there will be a singleplayer, start with that first. It will usually act as a tutorial for the MP when it comes to game mechanics. Also it will give you a feel for the guns.

Not sure if BF6 will launch with a Solo/coop mode vs ai bots like BF2042 did, but that would be your next training ground.

And then there’s the shooting range where you can test your gunplay.

  • Agree, with such scenario playing based on skill level would be the same as cheating and implementing some mechanism to regulate it might be very complicated, so best solution would be to train in teams with bots.

I’ve played campaigns but I don’t even mentioned it because they are completely different from the multiplayer (though let’s see what we got in BF6).

Shooting range gave me nothing - I’ve tried it for few hours before beta launch and could make with sniper rifle all 5 headshots in 9sec, but when comes to real game - I’ve gave up sniper rifle (and headshots) very quickly
