Feedback on the Roadmap - Very Good! But still missing things.
The roadmap has swayed me to keep the game installed, and looks like it's going to be a lot of good fun, and will potentially pull the game back into a playable state. I'm not holding my breath, but slightly optimistic.
The good:
- Bigger maps being implemented.
- Old Maps reworked for the new era.
- Server Browser.
- Reworks of current maps.
- A focus on jets and aircraft again.
- Naval warfare returning.
- Clarification on QOL going forward.
The Bad:
- The Skins design: Currently designs are too flashy, too unrealistic. Strix Raiders was a big step in the right direction.
- The Skins Availability: There is too much variety of skins locked behind a paywall. The Skins we can unlock are copies for each character. We need the same level of design variety for non purchasable skins.
- Generative AI: While it's not been confirmed, this should absolutely NOT be used for stickers, or any form of the front end design. We don't want stickers made from AI image generators sold to us, and we want more skins that are cheaper, and sold individually. Clarification on design ethics would've been nice.
- Netcode and Hitreg. We needed more clarification on this, and a clearer answer/roadmap for this alone, to keep consumer faith that being shot around corners isn't going to be persistent.
- Team balancing: A little word on other technical hurdles like this, should've been mentioned. It's a big issue, and it needs further clarification also.
- Vehicles going forward: will they be nerfed? Increased damage and durability? New presets? New customisation to aid different levels of pilot? We needed a tiny bit more on the future of vehicles in this game.
- New story elements: Operations has a TINY bit of story, but we need MORE lore, and MORE of a pull into the titles.
- Music: Any news on making the battle music and timing of songs a bit more present? Sometimes it feels like it's lacking some adrenaline. While the radio is nice, it shouldn't be a paid feature, or as quiet as it is. We need more musical immersion.
There's things I've missed, but overall it's a very good look into an interesting future. HOPEFULLY it will deliver on the promises, as so far the title has been below average, and needs a big pick me up.
