Yes, forced. The system was deliberately designed to pressure players into keeping crossplay on. If you disable it, you’re punished with dead lobbies full of AI bots. Even PC players managed to turn crossplay off for a while by editing their config files. Instead of officially adding that toggle to the game settings for them, DICE patched the method and forced crossplay on them too. Does this look like a real choice to you?
I read what you said. You said you are being forced to play on a controller. No one is forcing you to use a controller. You can use a mouse and keyboard if you wish. It's YOUR choice to use a controller. Just as it's my choice to use a M&K.
I do wish we both had the ability to fully disable crossplay, though. I would do so if I could.
god on my PC I would love to turn cross play off so can play against PC players. Then we also have the problem of controller type, honestly don't want PC players on controllers getting the aim assist etc as well. Lets not get into the hardware and software cheats as well which EA/DICE do not care about. The could if they wanted to make this more granular if they wanted to. So much junk to fix net code and exploiters using that, hit registration the list goes on....
