Give spawn beacon back to recon?

I feel like "assault" didnt really have a important function because its based on just getting kills and pushing forward which arguably any class can do, just without the extra weapon and stims. So they gave assault a function fron recon to keep pushing forward but now I barely see people use it, or if its used its done really poorly.

I dont see whats wrong with the original Engineer (Vehicles), Medic (health/revives), Support (ammo/suppression) and Recon (intel/harrassment).

Ive also had the same ick when they made support the medic. Like why is my medic laying down suppressive fire with an LMG?! Whys doc gotta carry all the meds AND ammo? Medics should be proficient in carbines or smg's no? Or would that make them too powerful. Im sure this all falls to some balancing reason but what do you think?

    1. The assault class should carry the medkit like in BF3
    2. The engineer should be the one of all time anti-vehicle
    3. The support should carry the ammunition and its specialty in light machine guns
    4. The reconnaissance should carry the radio beacon

These classes should have been the same as always. I find the current class system very poor and unbalanced. It was more balanced with the old class modes than the current one.

Smodo I never used it that way. Ideally its for getting behind enemies and mixing up the front so people can flank. Therell always be people who abuse stuff, like right now alot of assaults are lying down in the corners of objectives with the shotgun and will probably camp that way.

Please. Who thought it was a good idea to remove the only singular reason to pick Recon.

I agree, a well placed beacon can help turn the tide when a game is unbalanced.

  • No reason to try aggressive sniping particularly as all scopes, including iron sights, have glint. No upside in pushing forward.

I know there are a few Recons who actually support the team, but we both know 90% would use the beacon on a roof or hill 200 meters outside flag range, and it would only become a privat spawnpoint for 1 person.

The maps are way too small and vertical to have assault drop beacons 20m from every obj. This is gona be a mess in a week when a bigger percentage of people unlock and use the beacon.

Smodo77 So you want them to spend 5 more minutes having to walk back to their sniper spot rather than just assist with kills during that time instead?

Last time I checked, Recon players are incredibly good at flanking and setting up key spawn beacons that everyone in the squad will use as they get into a significant advantage position. They have cracked the code which Assault players would never reach as they would always put it near objectives and get destroyed instantly.

Also people can argue snipers can just spawn on each other if theyre the camping type anyway. Just clean them up with helicopters like other battlefields, we'd destroy the spawn beacon and theyd have to walk back regardless. Super-long range camp spots barely exist in this battlefield in the first place.
