Im disappointed. #USMC250th #NoSkins
So @DICE and @EA....How come on the 250th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps, the only significant thing we got was a coin to put on the side of a weapon. On top of that, I just loaded up the game(today is the day after our 250th Bday), and i get greeted immediately with an advertisement in-game to buy a ARMY RANGER bundle for Veteran's Day. Nothing against them.
I expected A LOT more than that. The Marine Corps is definitely a significant and recurring part of the series/franchise' depiction of Modern and near future-warfare. There is some symbolic weight from the beloved Corps in the franchise, giving players a sense of realism and connection to military history, to an extent. There's use of equipment, tactics, uniforms, rank, vehicles/aircraft, assets, attention to detail(hydration systems), EVEN humor, dialogue and attitude.
If I'm not mistaken, every Battlefield game has had a storyline about Marines and or playable faction of US Marines. BF1942, Vietnam, BF2, BF1943, BF Online, BFBC2, BF Play4Free, BF3, BF4, BFV, BF2042, and now Battlefield 6. I started on BFBC2 and then BF3 in middle school, BF4 in high school, and then BF1 when i graduated. I actually enlisted into the Marine Corps, and went Infantry which is ironic...(Battlefield played a big role in that, cant even lie). Then I played Battlefield 5 on a GAEMS portable gaming case while i was on deployment. Then played BF2042 when it released in the same year I got out of the Marine Corps in 2021. So its been a big part of my life, and I feel like if its going to be a big part of the franchise, maybe the franchise should show A LOT more appreciation for the branch of the military that you guys used to shape the franchise. It was very disappointing to see not even a message pop up when loading up the game, but instead, a completely different skin dropping for veterans day of a different branch.
So, as a veteran myself and as someone who has been on the Battlefield franchise for **bleep** near half of my life(crazy to admit, i just love it that much), and for more years to come...Please release characters that are THE grunts of the franchise. I want to see some Woodland and Desert MARPAT running around with the nostalgic voice lines, maybe the new Kevlar and updated uniforms, maybe drop a skin called the Salt Dog(Marine in full kit with just his green PT shorts and shirt on with flip flops, because why the hell not right?) WE want that same attention to detail that you guys brought to the franchise previously. Full PPE, head to toe. I know the many Marines that are active duty and playing this game in the Barracks, and the veterans that are playing this game now, WOULD LOVE to see it. In honor of the 250th Birthday.
AND PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I love running the support class, PLEASE make an option to where we can switch the gender for all classes. That would be interesting to see a Male and Female Marines in some MARPAT. I dropped some pictures for examples.
