It looks like we got to get good with aim guided missiles

I was looking a video with AA related advice  by EclipseFPS and I was convinced that I got to get good with the aim guided missiles, no matter how hard it seems to  successfully guide them to a flying target that  is not sitting there to get hit.

Is there some tip I should know other than trying to keep the missile in the same line as the aircraft in question and hope I can manage to follow its movements?
I seem to have some issues deciding how far the missile is on its way to reaching the target or if it has overshot.
