Let's talk about the maps in this game

BF6 is failing the legacy of BF3/BF4 by catering to "Battle Royale" campers

This game was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, but the map design tells a different story. I don’t understand why EA keeps listening to rookies who have never played a real Battlefield before. Adding open, "Battle Royale" style maps like Eastwood and Contaminated is a huge mistake.

Are the developers really building games for people who just want to lie prone and camp in wide-open fields? These maps are a paradise for low-skill players. If you want to see what a real Battlefield experience looks like, go back and play BF3 or BF4. Those games had flow, intensity, and actual cover.

Right now, Siege of Cairo is the only S-tier map in the entire game because it actually rewards skill and aggressive play. We need more urban, high-intensity maps like Cairo, not more empty fields. Stop catering to the newcomers and bring back the soul of the franchise.

Subject: BF6 is failing the legacy of BF3/BF4 - Bring back the 40% Urban balance

I’ve been analyzing the map design of BF6 compared to the golden era of Battlefield 3 and 4, and the data shows exactly why the current game feels so empty. EA/DICE, you are catering to rookies who prefer "Battle Royale" style open fields (like Eastwood and Contaminated), and it’s killing the franchise.

In BF3 and BF4, nearly 40% of the maps were high-intensity urban environments. These maps didn't have massive open fields where you just lie prone and camp.

The Golden Era Balance (S-Tier Urban & Mixed Maps):

    1. Battlefield 3 Legends:

Strike at Karkand, Grand Bazaar, Seine Crossing, Tehran Highway, and the entire Aftermath DLC (Epicenter, Markaz Monolith, Azadi Palace). These were the peak of urban warfare with tanks and IFVs in tight streets.

    2. Battlefield 4 Legends:

Siege of Shanghai, Pearl Market, Propaganda, Flood Zone, Dawnbreaker, Lumphini Garden, and Sunken Dragon. These had verticality and heavy building cover. You couldn't just sit in a field; you had to move and use skill.

    Current Problem in BF6:

In the current game, you've increased the "Open Field" design to nearly 80%. This is not Battlefield; it’s a paradise for low-skill campers.

Right now, Siege of Cairo is the only S-tier map because it actually rewards aggressive play and skill. We need more urban, high-intensity maps with actual cover, not more empty fields. Stop catering to newcomers and bring back the soul of the franchise.
