Liking it
Long time player/sufferer since 1942. I like this rendition of the franchise, seems much more focused than launch of 2042 and runs very well on my PC.
Immersion is Battlefield, no doubt. The amount of chaos happening simultaneously is great. Finally dialed in the audio last night going with 2.1 setting since my sound bar is 2.1. Audio is tighter than when I had it on spacial 3d and more in your face.
Destruction was such a let down on 2042 and this is much, much better, feels like the old BF days where a house can callapse on you if you are camping too long.
Although it does feel much more aligned with previous BF titles, the lack of recoil on weapons I'll have to get used to. There are pros and cons.
Sniping is far too easy with what appears to be zero drop and a few games have been loaded with snipers, but nothing new there (with exception of zero drop).
Vehicles are really good, still a bit clownish at times, but again, that has always been the case, mostly. I particularily like the sound the MBT makes when starting up, well done!
I also see improvement where air vehicles are not fully dominating, which is really, really, refreshing and a good thing. The dynamics of the game changes for the better when half the team doesn't have to dedicate itself to taking down a single chopper rather than playing the objective.
I've finally gone through all the screens on PC to familiarize myself with what the game has to offer, something I usually just ignore and jump right into MP games. I'll never be a big fan of all the challenges, skins, gadgets, tags and player profiles being behind endless grinding, but I realize its been part of the game for a long time now and that won't change. As the saying goes, 'to each, their own', I'll just ignore all that and max out the weapons, class that I usually main (LMG).
I do wish we could have more control over options for choosing the player and not having it behind paywall, grind. The immersion and consistency is better if I can just choose the character, customize it and keep it rather than grinding to find one I like.
Well done DICE and team, this is a really great game and I'm going to enjoy it for a long time.
