Somehow a escalation match i joined late (my team was at 2 with 99% progress and the enemy at 2 with roughly 40%) at some point we owned 2 of the 3 points and no enemy was on them and yet no win. no 1% tick, it jus sat there for 15-20 seconds then the enemy capped a point and won. Some how a cheater held the score so it would progress. Tf kind of cheat is that?
I wouldn't go quite as far as the previous poster, but yeah, you fell foul to the screwed-up catchup mechanic.
I don't think it's a bad thing in principle, but right now it's completely over the top in a very stupid way. I've been in matches where the endgame music was playing for minutes on end, and yet we would not win. And then bam, enemies got a second obj for 30 seconds and they won. It felt like crap.
Note the same mechanic exists in Conquest. It's less visible due to the way the score is kept, but it feels just as lousy.
its intended and actually a feature, its called the come back mechanic, dice added it to protect engagement and to stop bad players from quitting. This game is full of manipulative algorithms intended to farm your engagment depending on the profile its built on you and your playing and spending habits.
This system is called Engagment Optimized Matchmaking, and its the cancer of gaming.
