Map Design and the Impact on Team Coordination
I’ve been playing BF6 for some time now, coming directly from Battlefield 1 (BF1, BFV), and there are a couple of things I’d like to share as feedback.
One of the main issues for me is map design. In BF6, maps seem to have an excessive number of access points—sometimes dozens or even hundreds. This makes it very difficult to give clear callouts or coordinate movement as a team.
In BF1, it was much more intuitive and readable: you could say things like “two-story house,” “stairs,” “hallway,” “courtyard,” “tunnel,” “right side of the tunnel,” “lower door,” etc. The environments felt more structured, which really helped teamwork and situational awareness.
Another point is that BF6 feels more designed for solo or very small-group play. The game only allows a maximum of 5 players together on the same map, and often when transitioning from one map to another, the squad is no longer complete.
In BF1, we could easily join the same server and play together with up to 15 people, which made it feel far more social and team-oriented.
Overall, BF6 is great, but these aspects make it harder to play as a coordinated group compared to BF1. I hope this kind of feedback can help improve the experience for players who really value teamwork.
