Nerf sliding-jump is always echo chamber
The ongoing push to nerf sliding is largely an echo chamber of players who prefer camp.
Movement has always been a core part of Battlefield. Just look at BF4—it didn't have sliding, but it had high mobility and advanced movement tech. Players pulling the "veteran" card to justify nerfing movement are just using fake nostalgia to cope with their poor aim and obvious skill issue.
While sliding in BF6 may have been stronger at launch, here in Season 4, it is at a necessary baseline. Buff it, and it breaks the balance; nerf it any further, and pushing an objective becomes literally impossible. What exactly do camper players want? For attackers to just walk slowly in a straight line into your crosshairs without shooting back?
The current meta already heavily favors camper play.
People complain about campers in BF1 or BFV, but BF6 takes campers to another level. A Support player with deployable cover and ADS can completely lock down a lane. When you combine fast-killing LMGs, DMRs, and Snipers with the currently poor overall weapon accuracy for attackers, breaking a defensive setup is already a nightmare.
Finally, to the people constantly telling active players to "go play COD": be careful what you wish for. The player base has already hemorrhaged from its 750,000 launch peak down to 50,000, and 10.000 is clearly the next milestone if active player is leaving for "COD". Then you can finally sit in your dark corners, camp each other, and start your next echo chamber: "XX is breaking my camp setup!"
