Offline/bot experiences

TL;DR: Bring back a functional bot server progression model (something like “bot kills count, but at reduced rate”), or at the very least offer a true offline mode that rewards players. Otherwise, you’re punishing those who simply want to enjoy the game on their own terms.

I completely understand why the developers decided to nerf XP gains from the XP-farm style servers in Battlefield’s Portal mode — abuse was rampant. But shutting down all XP reward for all Portal modes with bots is wildly unfair. There are thousands of legitimate modes that play exactly like standard game modes (vehicles, hardcore variants, etc.) and those should absolutely still give meaningful XP.

Here’s the catch from a casual player’s perspective:

With limited gaming time, I don’t always have the option to queue into full-public matches. So I hop into a private conquest match with bots, similar to how one could in 2042.

Now? With XP wiped from those matches, when I do play, I get absolutely no reward. No attachments, no meaningful progression.

One of the best features of 2042 was the ability to host your own bot match, gear up, practice, and still earn progression. That’s essentially gone.

I’m not demanding full player-XP for bot matches. But here’s what I am asking for:

A compromise model: for example, every 4 bot kills = 1 regular kill, or awarding ≈50% of the normal XP in a bot-only or bot-heavy server. Bots shouldn’t reward the same as human players—but they also shouldn’t be zero if I’m playing under legitimate conditions.

For servers that are clearly built for bot-farming or script exploits, you absolutely disable XP or massively reduce it. That makes sense. But for “normal” private matches (bots filling empty slots), you should treat them as valid gameplay, not punish them.

Lastly, offline or bot-enabled options matter. Online servers go down. Regions are poorly populated at odd hours. Having the ability to host a private Breakthrough or Conquest game with bots and see meaningful progression is vital for players like me who have limited time.
