Apologies but it sounds like the original poster has no conception of what aim assist actually does and how incredibly annoying it can be.
If you are aiming at a target and another target passes by it will actually drag your aim off the target you are seeking to hit.
If you lower Aim Assist to 50 and Aim Assist Slowdown to 50, it works fairly well in keeping you from passing too quickly over the target. And that is its only function.
And, it is my contention that the original poster doesn't understand how to fire his automatic weapon correctly. Burst fire and not "emptying half a magazine" is the proper way to shoot. Emptying half a magazine is a sure way to throw bullets wildly at a target and it shouldn't be done. Controlled fire wins the day.
And, console children? Are you serious? My PS5 is hooked up (along with my satellite box) to my widescreen ultra high def television where I sit with my feet about two and a half feet from the TV screen in my comfy "Master Chair," as I call it, that keeps my back erect and my legs out straight. Add to that my 500 MB fiber optic connection and it's lovely! Coffee table behind me where from a corner is my beverage of choice, with my dogs on both sides of me relaxing or sleeping while Daddy plays his games!
I've been using PlayStation controllers for at least 20 years so, yeah, I pretty much have got the muscle memory down pat!
