Operations Needs Changes

Played 2 games, halfway through the second I was already sick of it.

It's just bad breakthrough.

Breakthrough is best with LESS vehicles. Not more.

You already made breakthrough less fun, and now Operations is even worse because of how many vehicles are in it.

Both games the attack got killed stone dead on "Hard Deck" with the big bunker B flag, just as I predicted before launch. The defensive IFV can spam HE shells along with defensive mortars and make it impossible to cap, and because you're going uphill the defenders have an easy time blowing up vehicles.

There's no open ground so you have to push into enemy vehicles and snipers murdering your attack. Then the IFV will push into your spawn and stop you getting anywhere near the flag.

You need to:

  1. Remove defensive vehicles.
  2. Cut the offensive vehicles down to one IFV or spawn truck.
  3. Bring back flag spawns.
  4. Ban mortars.

  • What? There are three vehicles max for each side, and only at the last battalion. You just can't make it less. The number is perfect. And the Operations mode is great, as always. Keep it coming, DICE!

    I agree with flag spawns, though. Being unable to spawn on a captured flag is an absolutely ridiculous idea.

    As always? It's completely watered down compared to the previous titles in battlefield. It's almost team deathmatch with a few extra steps. 

  • It's 100% a worse breakthrough.  No one obviously played it, or within 30 minutes of playing they'd go "uh guys, we have to change this mode, it's bad".

    It feels like it hasn't been playtested enough. You can sometimes get a good round in, but it feels like 1/10.

  • 100% in favor of reverting the idiotic mortar changes.

    The worst part about operations is that they didn't bother to fix or do anything to Hagental.  So, if you're attacking, get prepared for that L on first stage of Hagental because it's so insanely defender biased that it can't even be a joke.

    Personally, I find having more vehicles makes it more fun.  Though, where are the dirtbikes EA?  Imagine leaving out the most fun vehicle in the game.

    The gamemode is great, the balance between teams is bad, it's way too hard to be attacker after getting the first objective on contaminated, we flip flop on getting a or b, either defenders needs to be nerfed aka remove their tank, or attackers needs to get more ground vehicle or preferably a little bird to help.

    A hot fix to balance the gamemode before it is gone would be greatly appreciated

  • One match i had at the start when the vics are leaving the base the defenders would just fire 6 rpgs and one shot the vics before they could even move more than 10 meters.  I get being able to snipe with rpgs over 200 meters but on breakthough/ operations? Especcailly when the spot the vics leave is open to practically half the sector? Its unfair. That match we never took a single sector even with 1 apc and 3 ifvs they could just snipe with rpgs the whole time, and on top of that anyone not sniping with rpgs were just sniping with aimbot and or spamming mortars. At 1 point the enemy team had 8 people using mortars.  How is anyone supposed to push that? the points need changed, the mortars need nerfed, and on breakthrough rpgs shouldn't be doing 25% of a vehicles health over 60 meters and no more than 2 rpgs should hit a vic within 2 seconds.

  • Breakthrough type modes in general are just garbage. They need to change the rules to once you cap a point its capped, the end. It's why I prefer rush over breakthrough.
